About Me

I am person of multiethnic descent who has the most wonderful family I know.  We often have family get togethers (which to most would look like a general assembly meeting at the United Nations) because family is of the utmost importance.  We have had a varying range of hues and physical traits within my family (maternal and paternal) for as long as I can remember and therefore this is normal to me.  The varying physical appearances have never been an issue in my family because we are family first and each person can choose to identify as they want.  I am a single person who works for a state university in an Information Technology field.  Photography is quickly becoming a hobby of mine and I enjoy going on vacation with my family.  The city I work in has a large international community and being of multiethnic descent with varying ethnic physical traits makes working here quite interesting.  People often come up to me and speak in their language and often ask me about my ethnicity.  I have bachelor degrees in Sociology/Criminology and Political Science/Public Administration.  I hope to work on my masters degree soon in Education and Technology and then eventually get a doctorate degree in either Instructional Technology or Higher Education.

I became a member of the my family sites a couple of years ago. I was invited
by a cousin and have been trying to enjoy the sites as much as possible. I was so overwhelmed by all of the information on the family sites at first and am truly grateful for those who have worked so very hard to research the family histories. This research has allowed me to confirm whether or not if many of the stories I have been told over the years are true or if they are false and how these stories I have been told are true or false. I am a descendant of all the family lines that I am a member of on the my family sites but that does not mean that all of those lines are related to each other.

When participating on the my family sites we are put in a situation in which we must trust that all members are really family members and that if we want to use a person?s information, to ask permission first and give credit to the person who provided the information. If you don't properly credit the person who provides you information, it is called plagiarism. It does not matter if the information is a public record or not, it still must be documented with the appropriate source or it is plagiarism.
